We want every session to be a positive experience. That means creating an environment where students feel supported and tutors feel respected.
If a student is under 18, we ask that a parent or guardian take responsibility for making sure these guidelines are read, understood, and followed. By registering on Hello Tutor, you are agreeing to be part of a community built on trust, respect, and a shared commitment to learning.
Whether your session is online or at home, make sure you're ready to start on time. For online sessions, check your device, camera, and internet connection beforehand. For home sessions, have your books and materials ready.
A quiet space free from distractions helps every session go well — a tidy, well-lit desk for online sessions, or a similar dedicated space at home for in-person ones.
Hello Tutor is a place where students from all backgrounds come to learn. We expect everyone to treat tutors and fellow users with respect at all times. This includes the language used during sessions and in any messages sent through the platform.
Harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the platform.
All communication between students and tutors should take place through the Hello Tutor platform. Students should not attempt to contact tutors through personal phone numbers, social media, or any other channel outside of Hello Tutor. Arranging or attempting to meet a tutor outside of scheduled sessions, whether online or in person, is not permitted.
Sessions are for learning. Please keep conversations focused and appropriate at all times. Using abusive, threatening, or sexually inappropriate language or behaviour toward anyone on the platform will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Hello Tutor is here to support your learning, not to do it for you. We expect students to use the platform in good faith. Tutors are not permitted to complete assignments, assessments, or examinations on behalf of students, and students should not request this.
If anything happens during a session that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please report it to us straight away. We take every concern seriously and will always act on it promptly. Your safety matters to us and we are here to help.
We hope students choose to uphold this Code of Conduct because they understand why it matters, not simply because they have to. However, where these guidelines are not followed, Hello Tutor reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove access to the platform. In serious cases, matters will be referred to the relevant authorities.
